Device for distributing surface mount electronic components in a dispensing tray
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device for distributing surface mount electronic components in a dispensing tray, as well as to the dispensing tray itself specially adapted to collaborate with the device of the invention, having application in the electronics industry, and more specifically in the field of Surface Mounting Technology, commonly known by its acronym in English as SMT, for obtaining electronic devices.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
At present, SMD component assembly machines are known, commonly used to describe surface mounting devices, which are usually fed with a plurality of elements or components to be arranged on a surface of a printed circuit, which is usually known as the motherboard. These machines, by means of a certain programming, distribute these components in their position on the motherboard.
On the other hand, the feeding of electronic components to the machine is usually carried out by means of a coil, in those cases in which high quantities are required, in trays or in feeding bars usually known by their English denomination as sticks, in which a plurality of components are arranged in stacks according to a row inside a hollow bar or element.
The feeds by means of coil and tray do not present problems at present, however they have the limitation that their use is indicated only when considerable quantities of components are required in the manufacture of certain electronic devices, so they are not usable in those cases in those that require few components to obtain a certain electronic device.
On the other hand, the feeding of the machine by means of bars does present some

problems at present, since these bars have to be placed in an inclined way on a device that, by means of vibration, causes the components to slide along the bar and occupy the place occupied by the previous component that has already entered the machine and is arranged on the motherboard. This type of feeding presents, mainly, two problems:
A. - In the first place, in those cases in which the components have little weight, the problem is that some turn as an unwanted consequence of the vibration itself, so that they enter the machine through the wrong face and a rejection occurs .
B. - Secondly, in the event that components of different size and / or weight are placed in the vibrator feeder, since the feeder only vibrates at a frequency and intensity for all components, the inconvenience is that some do not descend correctly while other components are already in position, and situations may occur in which some components jump out of the feeder to get others to occupy their position.
In short, to avoid these problems, in these cases what is usually done is to dispense with the feeders by vibration and instead what is done is to manually arrange the components supplied in bars in trays, to then feed the machinery with those trays . Obviously, this operation involves a considerable loss of time, especially when there are small elements whose handling is not easy.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device, also called a head, which allows the components housed in a feed bar to be distributed quickly, easily and efficiently directly in the tray automatically without the need for manual manipulation.
The device for distributing surface mount electronic components in a dispensing tray that the invention proposes comprises a base part comprising an internal channel to which a feed bar, called a stick, of electronic components, of those currently used, can be attached. so that the components can run for dispensing through said internal channel. That bar is

it has an inclined wedge, by means of a stop located in said internal channel, in the base piece so that the components fall due to the effect of gravity. Obviously, the stop can materialize, among others, by means of a cross-sectional difference of the internal channel itself.
Also, the device comprises a pivoting piece that is articulated with respect to the base piece. Said pivoting part is housed, with the possibility of relative movement, a retaining stop which, depending on the position of the pivoting piece with respect to the base piece, can be located, at least partially occupying a certain volume in the internal channel of said base piece , interposing in the path of the electronic components at its exit from the power bar, although when the device is in use, that is to say with a power bar coupled to the internal channel of the base piece, the function of the retaining stop is to imprison the electronic component before the one being dispensed against the base piece itself.
On the other hand, the pivoting part comprises a contact area operable by contact between a first position in which the retaining stop is located, at least partially in the internal channel of the base piece, so that it interposes in the path of the electronic components and a second position in which the retaining stop occupies a smaller volume in the internal channel than it occupies in the first position, that is, it does not get in the way of the electronic components, at least it does not interpose in such such that it prevents said components from flowing through the internal channel.
It is contemplated that the base piece comprises at least one lower projection that can be housed in a guide to allow a linear sliding of the device.
For its part, the invention also relates to a dispensing tray specially adapted for use with the device described above. This tray for housing surface mounted electronic components comprises a plurality of alignedly distributed housings intended to receive the electronic components.
In accordance with the invention, the tray comprises at least one rack formed by a plurality of projections that can contact a contact area of a pivoting piece such as that comprising the device described above.

It is contemplated that the tray comprises at least one guide in which a lower projection of a base piece such as that comprising the device of the invention can be housed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complement the description that is being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred example of practical implementation thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description. In an illustrative and non-limiting manner, the following has been represented:
Figure 1 shows a schematic exploded view of an embodiment of the device and the dispensing tray of the invention, as well as a feed bar of components used commercially today.
Figure 2 shows a schematic perspective view of the device placed on the tray, in accordance with the embodiment shown in Figure 1, where the direction of advance of the device so that the components are distributed is represented with an arrow.
Figure 3.- Shows an elevation view of the device placed on the tray from the rear side of the device.
Figure 4.- Shows an elevation view of the device, like that of figure 3 but from the front side.
Figure 5.- It shows a longitudinal section of the device placed on the tray, in which the components and the action of the retaining stop for the dispensing and retention of the components can be appreciated by the position of the pivoting piece, an arrow having also been represented for the direction of advance of the device, as in figure 2.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
In view of the figures outlined, it can be seen how in one of the possible
embodiments of the invention the device (1) for distributing electronic components (A)

surface mounted on a dispensing tray that the invention proposes comprises:
- a base part (3) comprising an internal channel to which a power bar (B) of electronic components (A) that can run through said internal channel can be coupled, and
- a pivoting piece (4) that is articulated with respect to the base piece (3) and that houses a retaining stop (5) which, depending on the position of the pivoting piece (4) with respect to the base piece (3), can be positioned in the internal channel interposing in the path of the electronic components (A) at its exit from the feed bar (B).
As can be seen in the figures, the pivoting part (4) comprises a contact area (4 ') operable by contact between a first position, represented in figures 2 and 5, in which the retaining stop (5) is located in the internal channel of the base part (3) and interposes in the path of the electronic components (A) and a second position in which the retaining stop (5) does not interpose in the path of the electronic components (A ), at least in a manner that prevents said components (A) from flowing through the internal channel.
The device (1) comprises elastic torsion means (6), represented in figure 1, which in the absence of actuation on the contact area (4 ’) keep the pivoting part in the first position.
Advantageously, the pivoting part (4) comprises two contact areas (4 ') located parallel to both sides of the retaining stop (5), so that it is operable by projections located in rows on both sides of the retaining stop (5) .
It is contemplated that the device (1) comprises elastic means (7) located between a fixing plug (8) fixed to the pivoting piece (4) and the retaining stop (5), which allow to hold an electronic component (A), without damage it, between said retaining stop (5) and the base part (3) when the pivoting part (4) is in the first position. In the embodiment shown, it can be seen in Figures 1 and 5, that the retaining stop (5) is housed in a retaining support (5 ') which in turn is the one that is housed, guided, in the piece pivoting (4), so that the elastic means (7) are between the fixing plug and the retaining support (5 ') which is the cylindrical configuration piece in which the retaining stop (5) is properly housed. However, the representation made in Figure 5 is schematic, since the retaining stop (5) is superimposed on the corresponding component (A), as if it were not in that position, when it would actually step on or

it would imprison said component (A) by the effect of the elastic means (7), being placed on it and leaving it immobilized in the internal channel of the base piece itself (3).
According to the previous paragraph, as shown in Figure 5, it is contemplated that the pivoting part (4) comprises a dispensing tip (4 ''), located behind the retaining stop (5) although it could be earlier, that in the first position it does not get in the way of the electronic components (A) and that in the second position it gets in the way of the electronic components (A). Thus, only one component is dispensed while the next component is retained, preventing them from falling further by gravity.
As can be seen more clearly in Figures 3 and 4, the base piece (3) comprises at least one lower shoulder (3 ’) that can be housed in a guide (11) to allow a linear sliding of the device.
The invention also relates to a dispensing tray (2) for housing surface mounted electronic components (A), represented in all figures.
The dispensing tray (2) comprises a plurality of alignedly distributed housings (9) intended to receive the electronic components (A).
According to the invention, the tray (2) comprises at least one rack (10) formed by a plurality of projections that can contact a contact area (4 ') of a pivoting piece (4) such as that comprising a device as described above.
It is contemplated that the dispensing tray (2) comprises at least one guide (11) in which a lower projection (3 ’) of a base piece (3) can be housed, such as that comprising a device like the one described above.
As shown in the figures, in the preferred embodiment shown the base part (3) of the device (1) comprises two lower projections (3 '), which are constituted as parallel skates located on both sides of the base part (3 ), leaving the dispensing area of the components (A) in the center. Likewise, a preferred embodiment of the tray (2) comprises a plurality of parallel guides (11), between which the housings (9) are aligned for the reception of the components (A). In the zone

corresponding to said guides (11) is where the zippers (10) are fixed, being partially superimposed on said guides (11), so that they allow the insertion of the two lower projections (3 ') of the base piece (3) in adjacent guides (11), being in the center an alignment of housings (9). Given the partial overlapping of the zippers (10), the lower projections (3 ') of the base piece (3) must be inserted into the guides (11) on the side of the tray (2), so that once inside , the zippers (10) do not allow their removal by lifting the device (1), which facilitates its use by allowing only a linear sliding movement.
Thus, first the device (1) is housed in the guides (11) of the tray (2) and then it must only be dragged to slide them in the direction of the arrow represented in Figures 2 and 5.
Thus when the distribution device (1) of the invention is in operation, with the feed bar (B) of the prior art coupled to the base piece (3), as the device (1) slides along the tray (2) runs into the elements of the rack (10) and these cause the dispensing tip (4 '') of the pivoting piece (4) to be lifted, which, on the one hand, lets out the first component (A) from the feed bar (B) and on the other it causes the retaining stop (5) to descend and pinch the next component (A) so that it does not fall more than one, which is clearly seen in Figure 5. It allows, dispense or place a component (A) of each housing (9) of the tray (2) depending on the rack (10) and retain the next. In a position subsequent to that shown in Figure 5, the retaining stop (5) is raised allowing the components (A) to descend, but with the dispensing tip (4 '') lowered, which prevents them from falling into the tray (2).
In view of this description and set of figures, the person skilled in the art will be able to understand that the embodiments of the invention that have been described can be combined in multiple ways within the scope of the invention. The invention has been described according to some preferred embodiments thereof, but it will be apparent to the person skilled in the art that multiple variations can be introduced in said preferred embodiments without exceeding the object of the claimed invention.

R E I V I N D I C A C I O N E S
1. - Device (1) for distributing surface mounted electronic components (A) in a dispensing tray, characterized in that it comprises:
- a base part (3) comprising an internal channel to which a power bar (B) of electronic components (A) that can run through said internal channel can be coupled, and
- a pivoting piece (4) that is articulated with respect to the base piece (3) and that houses a retaining stop (5) which, depending on the position of the pivoting piece (4) with respect to the base piece (3), can be positioned in the internal channel of said base part (3),
- in which the pivoting part (4) comprises at least one contact area (4 ') operable by contact between a first position in which the retaining stop (5) is located, at least partially, in the internal channel of the base piece (3) and a second position in which the retaining stop (5) occupies a smaller volume in the internal channel than it occupies in the first position.
